Luckily, a previous E&CR of NSW Great Dane Club foster carer was able to provide Emily with a 'forever home'. Emily, aged nine years old is now safe in a
caring home where she will have all the vet care she requires, food, warmth and love. It just goes t show, irrespective of age, a 'forever home' can be successful. Emily is settling in well and loves to walk. She likes to chase the cats and Milo and attempts to play with her other new house mate Taz.

:: Emily enjoying a Run ::
"I have wormed her immediately and she ate some kibble when I got her home, once I'd added warm water. Her teeth are not too bad for an old girl. Emily and Barney traveled home well together and she responds to a 'no' so I think all will be well. I currently have Milo hiding at my feet and Taz sooking on the couch next to me, but they are young and will get over it. Emily is curled up on the floor near the door". E-mail excerpt from Emily's new owner, Barb.

:: Emily on Day 1 ::
Week 2 - "Emily is doing really well and whilst the photos
don't do her justice, I can see the difference in her. Tomorrow she
goes to the vet for a check up. She still has Taz bailed up in corners, but they will all sleep in the same room as long as he doesn't move he feels safe! Lol, stupid dog that he is". E-mail excerpt from Emily's owner.

:: Emily and Friends ::
"Yesterday, Emily did zoomies round the yard. She was playing
with Matthew, at least attempting too. We didn't encourage a second
charge around as she was pretty wobbly by the time she got back but
she is happy. This morning when I came home from the bus run she picked
up an old hearth brush and carted it around with her, proud as
punch. Such a lovely old girl.
Anyway, I'll let you know how the vet goes tomorrow". E-mail excerpt from Emily's owner.

:: Emily and Shemali ::
This is a new thing for Em and Shemali is the one she has chosen twice today to do it to! E-mail excerpt from Emily's owner, dated 21st July, 2008.
